Dinamo beats Kunlun Red Star in season's penultimate game

Print versionRiga Dinamo defeated Kunlun Red Star 2:1 (0:0, 2:0, 0:1) in the Kontinenatl Hockey League regular season's penultimate match on Monday, ending the Chinese club's playoff hopes, informed LETA.
Carter Ashton and Lauris Darzins scored the goals for Dinamo, while Devante Smith-Pelly scored the lone goal for the Red Star.
Riga Dinamo will close the KHL regular season with a match against Novosibirsk Sibir on Wednesday.
The Riga club is currently in 11th place in the KHL Western Conference standings with 41 points from 61 matches, while Red Star is ninth in the Eastern Conference with 60 points from 62 matches.
As reported, this is the sixth season in a row in which Dinamo has failed to qualify for the KHL playoffs.
