Compared to February 2019, goods were 2.0% and services 1.8% more expensive. Regulated prices of goods and services fell by 1.5% and non-regulated prices rose by 2.9%.

Compared to February 2019, the consumer price index was affected the most by more expensive food and non-alcoholic beverages. The main contributors were fresh fruit (27%), meat products (4.9%) and cereal products (4.5%). Electricity that reached homes was cheaper (13.2%) and petrol (7.7%) and diesel fuel (3.7%) were more expensive. Of food products, the prices of fresh fish (23%) and crisps (15%) also increased more and the prices of potatoes (23%) and fresh vegetables (16%) decreased.

Compared to January 2020, the consumer price index was affected the most by more expensive food and non-alcoholic beverages. More than half of the impact came from more expensive fruit and vegetables. The impact of the end of the seasonal sales of clothing and cheaper motor fuel was also significant.
