Estonia: Turnover of retail trade enterprises increased also in November

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2019, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 628 mln euros. Turnover increased by 4% at constant prices compared to November 2018

The turnover of stores selling manufactured goods increased by 3%. The greatest increase in turnover was experienced by stores selling textiles, clothing and footwear, with sales increasing 12% year on year. A higher than average increase in turnover occurred also in other non-specialised stores selling predominantly manufactured goods, i.e. department stores (10%), and in other specialised stores, such as stores selling predominantly computers and their accessories, books, sports equipment, games, toys, etc. (5%).


The turnover of grocery stores increased by 4% and the turnover of enterprises engaged in the retail sales of automotive fuel by 3%.


Compared to October 2019, in November, the turnover of retail trade enterprises decreased by 2%. According to the seasonally and working-day adjusted data, however, turnover increased by 2%. In the eleven months of 2019 (January – November), the turnover of retail trade enterprises increased by 4% compared to the same period of 2018.
