SAS carried out 13,000 flights from Palanga airport in 10 years

Over ten years of business at Palanga airport, Scandinavian Airlines SAS operated almost 13000 flights. The first SAS airplane from Copenhagen landed at Palanga airport on November 1, 2004, and now the airline company operates 26 weekly flights between Danish capital and Palanga, informed BC the airport.

"SAS is one of our most reliable and solid partners at Palanga airport. On the occasion of anniversary we would firstly want to thank the company for long-term cooperation. On our side, we'll continue making every effort to turn our airport even more convenient and attractive for passengers and airline companies bringing them to Lithuanian seashore", pointed out Marius Gelžinis, Director of Palanga airport.

 

"Customers are the key priority for SAS as well as their safety. We are always aiming at saving their time and therefore introduce innovative solutions. I'm glad for already ten years this can all be offered to the travellers from western part of Lithuania", said Rūta Jucienė, SAS General Manager Baltic States.

 

According to R.Jucienė, SAS and partners can take passengers from Palanga via Copenhagen to more than 1290 airports in 189 countries.

 

In January 2012 Scandinavian Airlines SAS celebrated 20th anniversary in Lithuania when it became the first Western airline company to start its regular operations in our country. Ten years ago SAS also became the first foreign airline company to start its operations in Palanga airport.

 

In total, SAS are operating 92 weekly flights between the main airports in Scandinavia and Lithuania. This includes 38 weekly flights between Vilnius and Copenhagen, 26 weekly flights between Palanga and Copenhagen, as well as 28 weekly flights between Vilnius and Stockholm. For winter holidays SAS will also offer direct flights between Oslo and Vilnius on December 19, 21, 26, 28, and on January 4 and 5 of the coming year.
