Estonia adopts EU's common flight rules

BC, Tallinn, 02.10.2014.Print version
The Estonian government approved on Thursday of a bill that declares the flight rules regulations enforced in Estonia invalid and instead, from December 4, 2014, EU common aviation rules will become valid, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

The Civil Aviation Administration is appointed as the competent supervisory authority and that rules out the need to change the aviation law every time a new EU initiative comes in force.

The bill adopts two international civil aviation conventions, supplementing the valid standard and modifying various aspects of aviation security due to EU legal framework.

As a new task, the Civil Aviation Authority also supervises the execution of parachuting sport requirements with the help of a handbook. The purpose of the amendment is to increase the safety level of parachuting.
