Transiidikeskus: Mitsubishi train continues to operate as planned

BC, Tallinn, 19.09.2014.Print version
Eesti Transiidikeskus (Estonian Transit Centre) Manager Erik Laidvee said that reductions in automotive production in Russia have not yet had an impact on the container train that transports details from Muuga to the Mitsubishi assembly plant in Kaluga, Russia, every other day, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

"Currently the train travels regularly, nothing has decreased," said Laidvee. "We rather even expect a small growth this year."

Laidvee said that container transport of other cargo in the Eesti Transiidikeskus has not decreased either, and they are expecting more growth instead.

Mitsubishi started regularly transporting details to its Kaluga assembly plant via Muuga in January 2013. A train with the capacity of 200 TEU departs from Muuga three or four times a week. The trip to Kaluga lasts two days.
