Latvian president: train lease process looks pathetic

BC, Riga, 10.07.2014.Print version
"The current train lease process looks pathetic," Latvian President Andris Berzins told LETA.

"It looks pathetic. People have to understand that definite decisions have to be made. A new board has been appointed and the term has been set. Current accomplishments need to be evaluated in order to draw specific conclusions," Berzins said.

As reported, Pasazieru vilciens board and the board chairman Artis Birkmanis submitted resignation to deputy state secretary at the Transport Ministry, Dins Merirands.

The head of the Transport Ministry's Land Transport Department Andris Lubans has been appointed as the new board chairman, while the financial director of Latvijas Dzelzcels (LDz) Maris Bremze, and LDz employee Mikus Perse have been appointed as board members.
