Estonian builder Nordecon and Estonian Motorways Department concluded construction agreements with a total value of up to approximately 10.5 million euros, according to which a lot of motorways' parts are going to be reconstructed and built all over Estonia, Nordecon's press service reported BC.

"Nordecon and Estonia's Motorways Department concluded a contractor's agreement, which provides reconstruction a ten-kilometers long part of a Haapsalu motorway on its part Risti-Palivere and asphalt coverage of a part of a road Taebla-Kullamaa. The works are worth 2.6 million euros. The thing is about the seventh agreement, which was concluded with a Motorways Department this spring. The number of a small agreements reflects a new stage in this shrinking market segment, which inevitably blends with a growth of pressure from our competitors," said Avo Ambur, member of the Management Board of Nordecon.

As Avo Ambur noted, the current investment plan of a Department of Motorways provides no such large projects as might be compared to those concluded last year. This motivates large road building companies to collect the necessary volume of works via small agreements.

"Than various small details appear to be important – efficiency of constructors, multi-sided activity and the ability to comply to various demands, outspoken in a framework of tenders. For example, the second stage of a road junction in Topi (a part on Juliky-Tabasalu) foresees building of a railway viaduct with a length of 31 meter in a way that the railway traffic of Elron during the whole would be interrupted only three times," noted Ambur.

Alongside to the mentioned agreement, Nordecon will reconstruct a six-kilometers long part of a road Tammispaa-Vilusi on a motorway Jihvi-Tartu, repair a road near a railway station Klooga, improves coverage of asphalt on five kilometers of a road Laagri-Harku and renovates the asphalt coverage in Jigeva, Tartu and Viru.
