Seven tanker cars derail in Riga Freeport territory

Print versionIn Riga Freeport territory next to the Neste Latvija Terminal, seven tanker cars carrying diesel fuel derailed overnight on June 21st, informs LETA.

Two have them have spillage, about 60 cubic meters in size.
The fuel has already been mopped up, and a Latvian Railroad Co. (LDz) emergency rescue train is at the scene.
The State Fire and Rescue Service took the call shortly before midnight, and the accident is not considered serious as the spillage did not ooze any farther than the railway tracks.
