BC, Vilnius, 19.03.2014.Print version
The bypass in Palanga which has been started at the beginning of March 2014 will reduce the noise and the air pollution in the city's streets, informs LETA/ELTA.

According to the calculations of the designing company Kelprojektas, having built the bypass and having modernized the Vydmantai Crossing, the regional air pollution in the roads' network will be reduced by 35% and the noise in the Palanga transit streets – by 5 decibels.

According to Director General of the company Algimantas Medziausis, the main criterion while implementing the reconstruction works – the evaluation of the effect on the environment.

"Our aim is to secure the improvement of the situation of the environment and to reduce the negative impacts the minimum: to try that the residents would not suffer from the noise; that the air pollution would be reduced and that the biological variety and the landscape would be preserved," said Medziausis.
