Lithuania Post has noticed that residents discover post offices as one more channel to obtain bus tickets for international destinations. This service is especially popular in small towns with no tickets selling points run by coach operators, informed BC post’s press service.

“We are striving to turn post offices into the place where citizens could handle their everyday issues, i.e. to pay bills, send money orders, or receive consumer credits. Tickets for international routes is one of the services offered at post offices. We can notice that this service is popular in small and remote towns located kilometres from regional centres,” Lithuania Post’s Director of Sales Division Arūnas Venckavičius said.

According to Mr Venckavičius, the largest part of bus tickets is sold in Zarasai, Naujoji Akmenė, Pakruojis, Ignalina, and Joniškis post offices. The most popular destinations are Germany, Poland, Latvia, and Russia.

Lithuania Post cooperates with the coach operators UAB Kautra and ECOLINES. At present, bus tickets to 169 cities in 18 European countries are offered at post offices. Bus tickets for international routes are available at more than 200 post offices in Lithuania.

Prices of the tickets for international routes sold at post offices are the same as at bus stations and travel agencies.
