Norwegian Airlines flight from Riga to Stockholm delayed due to birds mishap

Print versionJournalist Sandra Veinbergs reports on her Twitter account, that the Norwegian Airlines flight from Riga to Stockholm yesterday afternoon has been delayed due to a mishap. While taxiing, birds smashed into the nose of the plane and were sucked into the engines.

Veinberga, who is on board, says the engines were being checked, and that the passengers, mostly Swedes, are calm.
Airport communications confirmed to LETA that indeed such a mishap had occurred, adding that the aircraft is being checked, repaired, if necessary, for takeoff "as soon as possible."
After some time the plane successfully took off.
