Air Lituanica wants to rend a plane from Estonian Air

BC, Tallinn, 16.05.2013.Print version
In Lithuania, a new aviation company Air Lituanica is about to start operating and plans to rent an Embraer plane from Estonian Air that the later has been trying to get rid of for months, LETA/Postimees writes.

Currently Estonian Air has seven planes with jet engine, three Bombardiers and for Embraers but the new flight plan requires just five planes. One of them, a 76-seat Embraer 1870 suits the Lithuanian company's needs.

Estonian Air's spokeswoman Ilona Eskelinen was unwilling to speak about the details of the plan but admitted that the negotiations are under way.

Air Lituanica's communication manager Sandra Meškauskaitė told Postimees that the agreement is in the stage of being finalised.

The Lithuanian Aviation Board hasn’t issued an operating permit of an aviation entrepreneur to Air Lituanica yet but the company hopes to get it soon, so that it could launch flights at the end of June.
