Free public transport for vocational school students and persons with 3rd category disabilities from March 16 in Riga

Print versionAmendments to the Riga City Council's public transportation regulations, stipulating free public transport for vocational, art and music school students and persons with third category disabilities, will come into force tomorrow, March 16, according to a statement printed in the government's official newspaper Latvijas Vestnesis today, writes LETA.

The Riga City Council approved the amendments on February 19, and later the amendments were also endorsed by the Environmental Protection and Regional Development Ministry.
The income of municipal public transport company Rigas satiksme will reduce by LVL 4.27 million as a result, but this amount will be compensated from the city's budget.
