Only six out of ten Lithuanian drivers buy fuel from official Lithuanian gas stations. The rest 40% are looking for cheaper alternatives. They buy Belarusian fuel from truck drivers or they purchase fuel used by farmers, informs LETA/ELTA.

Such fuel purchasing tendency in Lithuania was presented by transport advertising website Autoplius.lt. The survey was carried out in January. 7,000 residents were interviewed.

Only 53.8% of respondents said that they buy diesel from official Lithuanian fuel stations. More than one tenth admitted that they buy diesel fuel from truck drivers, 16.9% said they were buying Belarusian fuel, while the rest 18.3% said that they preferred farmer's diesel or they were looking for other ways to get it illegally.
