Estonian railway cargo transport fell by 6% in five months

Cargo transport volume at the Eesti Raudtee infrastructure in the first five months of this year fell by 6% as compared to the same time last year to 12.69 million tonnes, LETA/Delfi reports.

In May the volume was 2.32 million tonnes, by 2.1% less than in May last year.

 

Oil products transport volume fell 22% to 1.24 million tonnes in May. In five months, 7.85 million tonnes of oil and oil products has been transported, a fall by 15%.

 

Transit cargo transport fell 1.9% to 10.03 million tonnes in the first five months.

 

Container transport totalled 22,478 TEU in the first five months, by 80% more than last year. In May 5,278 TEU of containers was transported, a 128% increase in a year.
