In 2012 half Lithuanians cut car fuel consumption

A total of 41% of Lithuanian car owners this year use less fuel than in 2011, a poll carried out by the research company RAIT showed.

Only 6% of car owners in Lithuania said they use more fuel this year, compared to the previous year. The poll revealed that half of them (50%) have not changed their fuel consumption habits, writes LETA/ELTA.

 

Those polled were also asked to specify what kind of fuel they use for their vehicles and where they buy them. A total of 54% said that use diesel for their cars, 37% buy gasoline octane 95, 11% run their cars on gas, while 4% use gasoline octane 98.

 

The poll showed that 80% of car owners in Lithuania buy fuel from service stations, whereas, 15% look for cheaper fuel in markets and elsewhere. Meanwhile, 7% of those polled said they buy fuel in neighbouring countries.
