Print versionVilnius residents and city guests will be encouraged to leave their cars at home in September 2009 again. Traditional action "City Without Car" is to be held in Vilnius on the second week of September.

In Vilnius on September 16-22, events of the European mobile week and the international European day "City Without Car". Meanwhile, on September 19, Vilnius residents and city guests will be encouraged to leave their cars at home and use public transport, informs ELTA/LETA.
Danguole Vaitkiene, head of Vilnius Healthy City Bureau, said at a news conference on Tuesday that the goal of the event which is to be held for the eighth year in a row is to inform city residents about local long-term mobility problems and point out the negative impact of transport on the environment.
