Lithuanian court sides with GetJet in obligation dispute with Novaturas
Vilnius Regional Court on Tuesday rejected Novaturas' request as unfounded. The company wants to be exempted from its contractual obligations to GetJet Airlines, the court told BNS.
The court believes Novaturas failed to prove the real threat adding that if the court satisfied its request, she would not be able to recover funds from GetJet Airlines.
In late November, Novaturas turned to court over its dispute with GetJet regarding the execution of their contract. Due to a significant drop in flights, Novaturas wants to avoid payments.
The company initiated a legal dispute requesting to state that the charter flight agreement could not be performed in full due to force majeure circumstances. Novaturas expects to be exempted from the potential payment calculated by GetJet for not meeting contractual obligations.
GetJet admitted last spring that the company's operation was paralyzed by the pandemic restrictions.
