BC, Tallinn, 22.10.2020.Print version
It emerged on Tuesday that the construction tender for the passenger terminal at Parnu airport did not bring the expected result, according to the Estonian regional Parnu Postimees writes LETA/BNS.

The management board of state-owned airport company Tallinn Airport, which operates Parnu airport, rejected all offers. "Five bids were submitted to the procurement of the Parnu airport terminal reconstruction project, but all exceeded the expected budget of two million euros," Einari Bambus, member of the management board of Tallinn Airport, said, adding that alternative solutions are now being developed. "This should not postpone the final completion date of the whole project, December 2021," he said.

According to Bambus, the work in the air traffic area of Parnu airport is proceeding according to plan and the provision of airport services will start in October 2021.

He added that the first international flights to Parnu could take place already then. According to the reconstruction project of the Parnu terminal, the building will expand by almost 900 square meters, offering the opportunity to serve 80 arriving passengers and the same number of departing passengers at the same time.

In July, the reconstruction of the air traffic area at Parnu airport was started, which should be completed by August next year.
