Latvia and Cambodia discuss stepping up cooperation in transport, logistics and tourism

Representatives of Latvia and Cambodia have discussed possibilities of stepping up economic cooperation in transport, logistics and tourism, LETA was told at the Latvian Foreign Ministry.

On Monday, Foreign Ministry State Secretary Andrejs Pildegovics met with Cambodia’s new non-resident Ambassador to Latvia Ker Vicseth who has arrived in Latvia on an accreditation visit.


During their meeting, the officials discussed the ways to develop the bilateral relations between Latvia and Cambodia through intensifying their political dialogue and business cooperation in the areas such as transport and logistics, and tourism, as well as promoting cooperation in international organisations. Cooperation in the Asia Europe Meeting and the EU-ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) formats was also discussed.


Ambassador Ker Vicseth has earned his Master’s degree in Law from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. In 1993, he began working for the Foreign Ministry’s Legal and Consular Department and had been director of that department since 2009. The Ambassador will reside in Moscow.

In 2017, export of goods to Cambodia amounted to EUR 196,250, which was a 39% increase year on year. Goods import from Cambodia constituted EUR 1.51 million last year, that is, by 11% less than in 2016.
