Polish shipyard board member accused of giving bribes to Port of Tallinn execs

Jan Paszkowski, member of the management board and commercial director of the Polish shipbuilding company Remontowa Shipbuilding located in Gdanks, has been accused of giving out a large amount of bribes to the former management of the Estonian state-owned port company Port of Tallinn, the weekly Eesti Ekspress reports, cites LETA/BNS.

It was revealed in 2015 that the corruption case of the Port of Tallinn is partly linked with the Polish shipyard and Remontowa Shipbuilding president Andrzej Wojtkiewicz and board member Jan Paszkowski transferred about 800,000 euros to the former management of the Estonian state-owned port company Port of Tallinn, while the total bribe was supposed to be 1.2 million euros.


Remontowa Shipbuilding in 2014 won the tender for the construction of two ferries for the Port of Tallinn. TS Laevad accepted the ferry Toll built by Remontowa in January this year, while the ferry Piret was handed over to the company in March 2017.
