Taxify to rent out 100 new CNG cars to drivers

BC, Tallinn, 21.11.2017.Print version
Taxify, the taxi hailing app of Estonian origin, is to rent out 100 compressed natural gas (CNG) cars to drivers, informs LETA/BNS.

Hanno Liiva, executive director of Taxify's Estonian division, said that Taxify is offering a full package to a beginning driver. "All 100 cars will come with a license card and insurance. In addition, we guarantee a 800 euro income for drivers for six months as well as the freedom to use the car for their personal use during their free time."

The company is planning to offer a favorable alternative to keeping a personal car. "We can foresee in the longer perspective that people will abandon the second car of the household and prefer to use ridesharing services when moving around in the city," Liiva said.

Altogether 50 Volkswagen Golf Variant CNG and 50 Skoda Octavia Wagon CNG models will be added to the existing 14 Toyota Corolla vehicles in Taxify colors. The first 10 vehicles have arrived and the rest are to arrive in dozens by the beginning of January at the latest.

Founded in 2013, Taxify is active in 28 cities in 20 different countries, mediating tens of millions of rides per year. The company employs a workforce of over 200.
