Latvia and Tajikistan will focus the cooperation in the area of transportation and logistics

The State Secretary of the Latvian Foreign Ministry, Andrejs Pildegovics, and the outgoing Ambassador of Tajikistan to Latvia, Kozidavlat Koimdodov, discussed the need for continued economic cooperation between Latvia and Tajikistan during the meeting on August 8th, informs LETA.

The Latvian Foreign Ministry said that Pildegovics had thanked the Ambassador for contribution in strengthening bilateral relations between Latvia and Tajikistan and approved of the current cooperation between both countries.

 

The two officials were of the same opinion that the bilateral high level dialogue between Latvia and Tajikistan should be further developed and economic cooperation between both countries should be facilitated, in particular focusing on the area of transportation and logistics.

 

The Ambassador of Tajikistan expressed gratitude for the support provided by Latvia to international organizations, emphasizing the importance of the support provided by the European Union to the Central Asia region. Pildegovics confirmed the intention of Latvia to continue to maintain active and friendly bilateral relations with Tajikistan and other Central Asia countries, as well as to promote cooperation of these countries with the European Union.

 

Kozidavlat Koimdodov took office as the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Latvia on June 15, 2012.
