Electric cars at 0.03% of all automobile registrations in Lithuania
BC, Vilnius, 04.08.2017.Print version
About 350 electric cars are registered in Lithuania at the moment, which makes 0.03% of all registered automobiles, ve.lt news portal reported, cites LETA/BNS.
"The plans for the next seven years is that one in ten new car
registrations will be powered by electricity. It is not easy to calculate that,
with this pace of growth, we will not reach our goals, and electric vehicles
will still be exotic," Martynas
Daujotas, the head of BMW trademark at Modus
Group, stated.
In his words, Lithuania has set ambitious goals, however, is not
encouraging the nation to buy electric cars, and the country's motivation
measures are a decade behind leading countries.
Government officials say that the problems were being solved, admitting
that no measures to motivate purchases of electric vehicles were being
discussed.
