Mindaugas Jusius, former CEO of Swedbank Life Insurance, has been appointed to head Klaipedos Nafta (Klaipeda Oil), Lithuania's oil product and liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals operator. He was on the company's board for more than five years, reports LETA/BNS.

Jusius won a competition for top executive of Klaipedos Nafta, the company said in a message to the Nasdaq Vilnius stock exchange.

"The new head faces top requirements and objectives, as Klaipedos Nafta does not only ensure implementation of the state's strategic energy objectives but also develops operations on international markets. This requires extensive experience, know-how and efforts," Energy Minister Zygimantas Vaiciunas said in a press release.

Jusius, 37, has a degree in banking, business and administration. He has been serving as independent board member at Klaipedos Nafta since October of 2011. Until the end of January, he headed the Lithuanian branch of Swedbank Life Insurance for seven years, also serving as its board chairman.

The CEO position at Klaipedos Nafta was vacant after Mantas Bartuska was appointed to head Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai (Lithuanian Railways, LG), the state-run railway company, last December.
