Lithuania's Orlen Lietuva to load products to tank vehicles in Klaipeda

BC, Vilnius, 22.03.2017.Print version
Polish-owned Lithuanian oil company Orlen Lietuva will load petrol and diesel fuel produced at its facility in Mazeikiai, northern Lithuania, onto tank vehicles in the port city of Klaipeda after bringing it by rail. The operations will be conducted in a renovated modern site of Klaipedos Nafta company, informed LETA/BNS.

Klaipedos Nafta (Klaipeda Oil), Lithuania's oil product and liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals operator, said it had signed a long-term contract with Orlen Lietuva, which is committed to loading its oil products to tankers via Klaipedos Nafta until 2024. Up until now, Orlen Lietuva used to distribute petrol and diesel fuel to clients in Lithuania via the Kaunas-based Okseta terminal owned by the family of Ivanas Paleicikas.

In February, Klaipedos Nafta signed analogous contracts with Neste Lietuva, Finnish-capital operator of a chain of filling stations, and Viada LT, the leader in retail fuel trade in Lithuania.

After reconstructing the site for 2.5 mln euros, Klaipedos Nafta's terminal can handle up to four tanker vehicles at a time.
