The biggest passenger ferry of the listed Estonian shipper Tallink Grupp, Silja Europa, is to return to the Tallinn-Helsinki route on Monday, Dec. 12 after being refurbished for 16 mln euros, reports LETA/BNS.

The ship will depart from Tallinn at 12:30 p.m. and from Helsinki at 6:30 p.m. Silja Europa will therefore replace Baltic Queen on the route, which will then replace Romantika on the Tallinn-Stockholm route. Romantika will once again start sailing on the Riga-Stockholm route, replacing Isabelle.

One of the most extensive and expensive works was a complete facelift of a total of 1,016 cabins including the cabins of all classes starting with standard and ending with suites.

In spring 2016 the Silja Europa's shops, nightclub and show bar were renovated, and a new restaurant Tavolata and fast service restaurant Fast Lane were launched.

Built in Germany in 1993, Silja Europa is 202 meters long, 33 meters wide and has a maximum passenger capacity of more than 3,000. The vessel's maximum speed is 21.5 knots and its car deck can accommodate 932 lane meters of vehicles. It has the highest ice class, 1A Super.
