BC, Riga, 30.09.2016.Print version
Maris Bremze, a board member of Latvia’s Pasazieru Vilciens rail passenger carrier has tendered resignation, reports LETA.

He told that he had made such a decision to go for new professional challenges. At the same time, Bremze denied that there had been a political pressure on him.

Pasazieru Vilciens confirmed this information and said that the company’s board is still able to make decisions. There is board chairman Andris Lubans and board member Mikus Perse.

Bremze had been on the board of Pasazieru Vilciens since July 2014. Before that he had worked in several companies related with Latvijas Dzelzcels railway company.

Pasazieru Vilciens was established in 2001 to separate domestic passenger services from other functions performed by the state-owned Latvijas Dzelzcels (Latvian Railway). Although initially Pasazieru Vilciens was a 100-% owned subsidiary of the Latvian Railway, in October 2008 it was transformed into an independent state-owned company.
