Talks between the Polish-owned oil company Orlen Lietuva and the state railway company Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai (Lithuanian Railways, or LG) on railway tariffs, which broke down in May, will be resumed, Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius said LETA/BNS on Monday.

Butkevicius acknowledges that successful talks would help Lithuania to negotiate more constructively with Poland on joint energy projects.

The prime minister spoke to reporters in Vilnius after a meeting with Piotr Naimski, a Polish government official in charge of energy issues, Deputy Energy Minister Michal Kurtyka, PKN Orlen President Wojciech Jasinski and Orlen Lietuva CEO Ireneusz Fafara.

"These discussions between Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai and Orlen were discontinued. We have agreed now that (the talks) will be resumed and are likely to be completed within a month," he said
