Klaipeda remains Baltics' No 1 container port in January-May

Print versionKlaipeda remained the number one seaport in the Baltic countries in terms of container handling in the first five months of the year 2016, the port's authority said LETA/BNS on June 22nd.

The Lithuanian port handled 179,600 TEUs between January and May, up 4.8% from 171,400 in the same period last year.
TEU traffic in Riga edged up by an annual 1.7% to 154,700 and Tallinn posted a 6.4% drop to 81,200 units. Liepaja saw its TEU traffic fall by 25% to 959 units.
TEU traffic in Klaipeda fell by 12.8% in the full year 2015 compared with 2014 to 392,700 units.
