Daugavpils Locomotive Repair Plant posted EUR 2.7 mln in losses in 2015

Consolidated net sales of Daugavpils Lokomotivju Remonta Rupnica (Daugavpils Locomotive Repair Plant, DLRR), the train engine repair group based in the south-eastern Latvian city of Daugavpils, in 2015 was EUR 19.2 million, up four percent from 2014, the company’s revised financial report submitted to the Nasdaq Riga Stock Exchange points out, cites LETA.

DLRR finished the year with losses of EUR 2.7 million, which is considerably more when compared to the losses the company sustained in 2014 – EUR 1.1 million.

 

In 2015, the DLRR Group exported its products to eight countries, the total export volume amounted to EUR 12 million (in 2014 – 18 million EUR), while net sales in Latvia amounted to EUR 7.2 million (in 2014 – EUR 2.1 million). The main directions of export in 2015 were EU countries: Lithuania and Estonia, and third countries: Russia, Belarus and Uzbekistan.

 

Significant losses are firstly related to the sales agreements in Russian ruble, as well due to only partial work load during the reporting period. Thus, in order to increases the factories economical efficiency, reorganization and optimization of the manufacturing process was performed and cut of operating expenses, the financial report states.

 

DLRR is the largest company in the Baltic countries specializing in repairs to and modernization of locomotives and rolling stock and manufacturing spare parts for trains.
