Latvian, Lithuanian haulers will have to pay road levy in Russia

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed amendments to the government’s decree, providing that haulers representing several countries, including Latvia and Lithuania, will have to pay a road levy in Russia, reports INTERFAX/LETA.

The document also provides for increase of the size of the road tax.

 

The road levy will be paid also by truckers coming from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland, Turkmenistan, Hungary, Germany and Sweden.

 

The new levy will be EUR 1,620 a year, EUR 140 a month, EUR 34 a week or EUR 12 a day compared to EUR 812 a year, EUR 67 a month, EUR 16 a week and EUR 5 a week earlier.
