Lithuanian Railways carried 2.6% less cargoes in January-October

Lithuania's state railway company Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai (Lithuanian Railways) handled a total of 39.644 million tons of freight in January through October 2015, down 2.6% from the same period last year, provisional figures from Statistics Lithuania showed on Friday, cites LETA/BNS.

Year-on-year, international freight traffic decreased by 2.7% to 27.9 million tons and domestic freight volumes were down by 2.2% to 11.7 million tons.

 

In October alone, the railway company carried 4.385 million tons of freight – up by 5.8% month-on-month, but down by 5.2% year-on-year.
