Informative displays to be set up on most dangerous highways in Latvia

Print versionIn order to reduce the number of traffic accidents, special informative displays will be set up on the most dangerous highways in Latvia, Latvijas valsts celi (Latvian State Roads) Director Janis Lange said in an interview with the LNT show "900 sekundes" this morning, reports LETA.

The global practice shows that setting up such displays reduces the number of traffic accidents by 20%, while the number of speeding violations reduces by 10%, said Lange.
The most dangerous highways in Latvia are the Riga beltway, the highway connecting Riga, Bauska, and the Lithuanian border, as well as the Tallinn Highway, according to Latvijas valsts celi.
