Boundary fence planned to be erected on Estonian-Russian border

Print versionThe Police and Border Guard Board are planning to build a boundary fence that is 2.5 metres high on a little more than 100 kilometres of land border between Estonia and Russia, writes LETA/Postimees.

The boundary fence would run without gaps from Värska to the Koidula border-crossing point.
On swamp areas there would be no fence, as there the border line would only consist of border posts and patrolling track.
The estimated cost of complete construction of Estonia's eastern border amounts to 71 million euros.
