Cargo volume at the Port of Tallinn shrunk by 25% in July

In July 2015, the amount of goods transported through the ports of the Port of Tallinn was by nearly 25% smaller than during the same period of time last year, whereas the number of passengers grew by 6.6%, writes LETA/Äripäev.

In July, AS Tallinna Sadam (the Port of Tallinn) provided services to a total of 1,347,217 passengers – 6.6% more than during the same period of time last year. The cargo volume fell by 24.3%, amounting to 1.61 million tonnes.

 

In terms of categories of goods, the volume of break bulk fell the fastest, by 65.7% in July, amounting to 15,500 tonnes.

 

The volume of the largest category of goods – liquid bulk – shrank by 39.9%, to 844,300 tonnes.
