If Tallink fails to come through, other companies will provide second ferry Riga-Stockholm
BC, Riga, 27.07.2015.Print version
Riga Freeport CEO Andris Ameriks commented that if the Tallink company does not come up with a second ferry ship to accommodate passengers daily on the route Riga-Stockholm-Riga, then other companies are interested in doing so, probably in 2016, writes LETA.
Ameriks says that he even knows a Chinese company that is interested.
Tallink had recently expressed doubts that it will be able to find another ship.
All this because Tallink made a major alteration in Baltic ferry traffic last August when it transferred "Romantika" from the Riga-Stockholm route, to Tallinn-Stockholm, leaving "Isabelle" as the sole vessel traveling, with schedule also altered to depart every other day, not daily, as had been the case for years.
