Latvijas Dzelzcels gets EUR 37.8 mln loan from Swedbank

The Latvian rail company Latvijas Dzelzcels has signed a loan agreement with Swedbank for EUR 37.768 million, informs LETA.
The loan consists of two investment credits for a term of seven and ten years, respectively. The funding will be used in investment and infrastructure projects by Latvijas Dzelzcels.
Latvijas Dzelzcels Vice-President Aivars Straksas told media representatives that the company plans on investing EUR 166.73 million in railroad development this year. "We are glad that our financial activities have been appreciated, and thanks to this loan, we will be able to complete our investment plan," said Straksas.
As reported, in 2014, Latvijas Dzelzcels turned over EUR 224.9 million, which is 3% more, as compared with EUR 218 million in 2013.
