Municipality to abandon taxi Vilnius Veza

BC, Vilnius, 26.05.2015.Print version
Vilnius Mayor Remigijus Simasius says that the municipality will comply with the decision of the Competition Council, will exit from taxi business and abandon taxi company Vilnius Veza. It is yet unclear what procedure will be applied to the company, reports LETA/ELTA.

"One thing is clear and certain in this case – the municipality is no longer willing to litigate with the Competition Council. The Competition Council has said that such company must disappear and it will," Vilnius mayor told journalists on May 25th.

Simasius emphasised that taxi company Vilnius Veza is one month due to pay for vehicles leased. An audit is currently being carried out at the company to determine its actual financial state.

According to the mayor, the company's structure is so complicated that "probably nobody is capable to grasp it any longer".
