Major restrictions at Riga Airport for Eastern Partnership Summit

BC, Riga, 18.05.2015.Print version
Due to massive security measures in effect during the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga on May 21 and May 22, major restrictions are also planned at Riga International Airport, and those with departures scheduled, must arrive at the airport at least three hours before their flights, the airport informed LETA.

Only passengers and airport employees will be admitted to the Riga Airport's terminal on May 21 and 22. People waiting for or accompanying passengers will not be permitted.

Furthermore, taking into account the fact that significant changes in the organization of traffic will affect the access roads and airport parking lots on the said dates, passengers are recommended to commute to the airport by public transport. Short-term and long-term parking will be available only in parking lot "P3".

The Riga Airport requests passengers and airport visitors to be understanding, and it apologizes for any inconvenience.

As reported, the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga is one of the most important events of Latvia's Presidency at the Council of the European Union. The summit will bring together highest-ranking officials from 28 EU member states and six Eastern Partnership countries, as well as top EU officials, including the European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
