The sales of fuel sellers in Estonia fell in January 2015 as compared to the same period last year as much as by a quarter, LETA/Postimees Online cites Statistics Estonia data.

The sales of fuel sellers fell in January 24.5% to 75.3 million euros. The revenue of fuel sellers was that small in April 2011 latest. Motor fuel sales fell in January by 18.5% to 46.2 million euros, the lowest since February 2011.

The cause for the decrease in revenues is due to the big drop in prices over the last months of last year and in January this year. The volume of retail sales of motor fuels remained at the previous January's level.

In addition to the price decrease, the decline in sales was caused by last January's high base.

The average price of petrol 95 had fallen by 21.5% in January.
