Riga City Council to increase meter parking tariffs from April

Print versionOn February 17th, the Riga City Council's Traffic and Transportation Committee approved new tariffs for meter parking in the city from April 1, 2015, reports LETA.

The new tariff for Zone A parking will be EUR 2.50 for the first hour, and EUR 3 for each additional hour.
The new tariff for Zone B parking will be EUR 1.50 for the first hour, and EUR 2 for each additional hour.
The new tariff for Zone C parking in Riga's Old Town will be EUR 5 for the first hour, and EUR 8 for each additional hour.
The new tariff for Zone D parking will be EUR 1 for the first hour, and EUR 1.50 for each additional hour.
The City Council informs that revenue from meter parking in 2014 was EUR 6.8 million, thus the increase in parking tariffs will give an additional EUR 1.31 million in revenue to the municipal budget.
