During a meeting with Latvijas gaisa satiksme CEO Davids Taurins, Brenner said that the air navigation service at the Riga International Airport complies with the highest standards, and that Latvijas gaisa satiksme has become one of the most modern and efficient service providers in Europe.

Latvijas gaisa satiksme CEO Taurins informed Brenner that Riga airport has already launched several important projects aimed at implementing the latest technologies. For example, the "Atracc-2015" air navigation control system will increase the safety and efficiency of flights.

Vehicles and aircraft are going to be constantly monitored, whereas the airport's "blind" zones will be supervised via a special control system. The airport is also planning on implementing the so-called "follow-the-green" project, which will assist airplane movement on land using runway lighting.

While in Riga, Brenner met with the Transport Ministry's State Secretary Kaspars Ozolins to discuss recent matters in aviation industry. They focused on the importance of increasing the competitive capacity of EU member states, including the reduction of air navigation management costs.
