Estonian resort Pärnu might be visited by approximately 400,000 tourists in 2010, LETA/BBN reports, referring to newspaper articles.

According to local tourism specialists, city tourism information center has had more than 54,000 visitors in eight months, and as surveys reveal, about 15% of overall tourists number visit the tourism information center when being somewhere, therefore it puts the total to about 400,000 people.

A year ago, Pärnu tourism information center was visited by nearly 50,000 visitors.

It is estimated that while the number of Estonians visiting Pärnu have been falling, there are notably more foreign tourists. For instance, the number of French, Spanish and Italian tourists visiting Pärnu in the summer is about three times higher than last year.

The number of Russian tourists has been largely unchanged because of visa problems, say the authorities.
