Latvia's Webhelp set to exit Lithuania, lay off staff
BC, Vilnius, 19.10.2020.Print version
Webhelp LT, a Latvian-owned travel and leisure consultancy, is laying off all employees as part of its exit from Lithuania, reported LETA/BNS.
Webhelp LT has notified the Lithuanian Employment Services of 45 layoffs.
Latvia's Webhelp wrote on its website last week that Webhelp LT would pull out of Lithuania by the end of this year, blaming the move on the coronavirus crisis that has hit hard the travel business.
Webhelp LT posted a net profit of 68,000 euros on revenue of 2.1 mln euros last year. It planned to pay out 250,000 euros as dividends this year.
The company had operated under the name of Runway Kaunas since 2004 before being renamed Webhelp LT in October 2019. Runway Kaunas had over 100 employees in Lithuania five years ago, according to figures from the state social insurance fund Sodra.
