3 Lithuanian tourists injured in bus capsize in Barcelona

Three tourists from Lithuania incurred injuries when a bus capsized en route to an airport in Barcelona, Spain, in early hours of Wednesday, reports LETA/BNS.

 "According to preliminary information, two of the three injured Lithuanians were taken to hospital for medical checkup. We are in contact with one of the injured men via the Embassy in Madrid. The Lithuanians are currently reviewing their flights, as the accident occurred on their way to the airport for departure," told Rytis Paulauskas, director of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry's Information and Public Relations Department.

 

AFP news agency said that a total of 24 people were injured in the accident, including tourists from Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, Poland, Belarus and Spanish citizens. The driver was also injured.

 

The accident occurred at 4:10 a.m. (Lithuanian time) on Wednesday when the bus was on its way to the El Prat airport during heavy showers.
