Latvian rural tourism turnover this year likely to grow 10-15%
"This summer was very good. Some of the rural tourism
operators have reported hosting 17 wedding parties during summer which means
that they have had guests not only on weekends but also on working days,” she
said.
Latvian rural tourism operators are pleased with their
results this summer. The number of both Latvian and foreign tourists staying in
the countryside has increased, and the rural tourism turnover this year might
grow 10-15% compared to 2015.
Ziemele said that the number of Russian tourists staying at
guest houses in Latvia’s countryside had declined steeply this year but this
decline had been offset by the rising demand for accommodations among Latvian
emigrants, who returned to Latvia to spend their vacation here.
