Dzintari Concert Hall: New Wave will not be held in Jurmala in 2015

Print versionThe organizers of the annual New Wave pop-music contest/festival have not reserved the dates for the festival in Jurmala in 2015, thus these dates have been reserved for other events and New Wave will not be held in the Latvian coastal resort city this summer, the head of the Dzintari Concert Hall Guntars Kirsis confirmed to LETA.

He explained that concert hall representatives have already for a while taken into consideration that the event will not be held in Jurmala this summer, thus they have moved forward with other events. ''These events will be made known in the upcoming days,'' Kirsis said.
As reported, newspaper "Vesti" reported in December about rumors that Russian "New Wave" pop music festival and the KVN and "Comedy Club" stand-up shows will not be able to organize their events in Jurmala anymore by leading Moscow politicians' order.
Recent speculations indicate that "New Wave" could also take place in Crimea.
