Ektornet Residential Latvia was the leading real estate company last year with turnover of EUR 65.507 million, according to the Latvian Business Annual Report 2014 compiled by Firmas.lv and LETA.

The "Top 10" real estate companies last also includes Rigas namu parvaldnieks (EUR 58.079 million turnover), Valsts nekustamie ipasumi (EUR 44.828 million turnover), Ektornet Commercial Latvia (EUR 35.312 million turnover), Ektornet Real Estate Latvia (EUR 25.615 million turnover), Plesko Real Estate (EUR 19.383 million turnover), Tranzita terminals (EUR 19.027 million turnover) NIF Dzivojamie ipasumi (EUR 18.489 million turnover), Signals-P-Suja (EUR 17.578 million turnover), and Pillar 3 (EUR 15.915 million turnover).

CEO of Latvia Real Estate Dealers Association, Edgars Sins, said that the amendments to the Immigration Law that came into force on September 1 would leave a very negative fiscal impact on the state budget.

"I am less concerned about the real estate market, as it will be able to adapt. I am more concerned about the negative fiscal impact on tax revenue, which we will feel very soon. The temporary residence permit program increased the state budget by several hundred million euros. I would like to see how this sum is going to be compensated, taking into account that export markets are weak at the moment, and that the economic activity will reduce due to the geopolitical situation," Sins explained.
